Away from home away from glory
This is my life this is my story
For my daily bread i have to roam
Lands far and wide away from home
An ailing mother ,a loving sis
A homecooked meal is what all I miss
Those breakfast table arguements with dad
Are things I long for , that make me sad
I thank God though ,that through all his grace
All things in life have fallen in place
That I have now plenty to eat and spare
It was his plan that he brought me here
But sometimes in the daily victorious and defeats
In life's little tricks and treats
I remember what I have left behind
When nostalgia quietly creeps into my mind
(Dedicated to my dear friend Khubeb Siddiqui who never has failed to inspire me through his smiles and never-say-die spirit.I have tried to do justice to what he feels working in Saudi, away from home.Any mistakes and shortcomings are requested to be overlooked and ignored as an amateur's effort.)
.....to be completed.
This blog is one of the few things I can really call my own.As you will see, some good and bad moments from my life find mention here, sometimes in the form of poems and sometimes as sheer memoirs. I want the world to know what the real me is all about. The reader can decide depending on his/her own sensibilities and capacity to understand what I have experienced and have to say.My Life is a gift from God and I want to make the best of it....Hasta El Amor Siempre....(Towards Love ...Always..)

The Joy of the Lord is My Strength

This was the motto of the Anand(Joy) house in my school. To be honest , I never liked the colour of the T-shirt we had to put on Fridays- the bright yellow. The colour of the Satya(truth) house, a dark green was what I really wanted to be seen wearing.Infact , it wasnt until very late in my school with the onset of some wordly wisedom that I began realising what the color really symbolised and what the motto meant.
There is a profound and inherent difference in happiness and joy.Happiness is transitory, and usually needs a reason , a platform to thrive on.Joy on the contrary is without reasons, just like love.Someone gets an unexpected windfall and he is very happy with the money, but the moment you deprive him of those worldly pleasures, he wears a long face and sadnees steps in to fill the void. But a joyous heart is euphoric and remains so regardless of the materialistic pleasures and pains that surround it.The joy comes from one true source and that is love , real and deep, all encompassing, and forgiving.
I believe that any form of true love has to have the involvement of the divine to be worthy to be given that name."I Love You" - three words- me , you and Love which they say is God, or to be more precise the most important quality of the Almighty.
Joy- is also as some say -JESUS OTHERS YOU- if you put the things of life in that order.
It is real funny to think how we keep running after the mundane, mortal things of this world, but sometimes fail to take out a few moments of self introspection to connect with our creator, either through meditation or through our actions-done for him and dedicated to him.
All this evangilical talk might get some yawning already but the fact remains ....He created us , we didnt create him.True Joy can only come from serving him and the people he loves, unconditiionally.Service they say is an expression of love.
May we find the true joy within us to unlock all the goodness this christmas.

Saurabh ….My Friend

A beautiful smile and a calm face
That adorns all sites from Orkut to Myspace
A friend so true who is always there for me
With an attitude so bold and carefree
He is none other than Saurabh Gupta- a bachelor so smart
A guy who carries in him a big golden heart
What makes him special ?..this dude from Dehradun ?
Just befriend him and you’ll find out soon!
There's a thing about him he doesn’t know though
That his love with us continues to grow
Whether he is now in Ajmer or Hyderabad
In smiles and friendship...he is always our Ustaad
I know he is human , he has problems like all
That make us cry and make us fall
But he has this amazing way to live
With zindadilli and only love to give
I wonder who that princess will be
Who will win this knight’s heart...that Lucky "She"
Coz he is unique ....so what like everyone?
Among stars he shines bright like the Sun.
This dude so credulous the other day
Finally he fell for this trick that I did play
I told him that I was marrying a "K"oleague of mine
A girl so beautiful, a girl so fine
And Saurabh believed us and he did say...
-"Wish you luck buddy ,for u guys I'll always pray"
-“Although I can’t make it to the secret arrangement “
-“You made a good choice for marriage and engagement”
He said so...and then I wondered
As a suppressed laughter in my heart thundered
"Man ...this guy’s is so good at heart...
Why didn’t we become friends from the start?"
Yes I do have this just one regret
I wish if we guys could have met-
Years earlier when my days were dark
When I needed a true friend…a much needed spark
Today (May 2009) he works with the reputed Infosys
And soon he will enter a beautiful marital bliss
He is just the kind of dude …you know
Who takes life along wherever he would go
Saurabh is special ..a special friend..
And I will love him like dear...till my end.
