Awaiting My Valkyrie...

A soldier's fate I await
Fervently knocking on death's gate
A life so dead not violence free
Is what beckons my Valkyrie...

My Life's a testimony of feelings ripped from the core
Like some jetsam washed up on the shore
Like some shadows lurking in my dreams
With a chilling silence of helpless screams
A scarred soul at war with me
Is what beckons my Valkyrie..

A sea of faces that I did slay
Haunt my conscious night and day
Laughing at my bleeding wounds so deep
The jibes so acerbic make me weep
An escape from this storm to a calm sea
Is what beckons my Valkyrie

This Life- A disease of numbered breaths
Whose dark moments mask a thousand deaths
A broken faith in a broken heart
An act of heresy that ripped it apart
A false Promise , A Love so fake
Has left only death and misery in its wake
A cry for my salvation and this past to bury
Is what beckons my Valkyrie

A walk so gloomy , a gait so wrong
Of an unsung hero of an unsung song
A pack of lies surround me here
Though some cordial truths I did share
With someone special who I still remember
Someone who once was my sweet September
Someone who oneday simply walked away
For worldly lies that come in shades of black and grey
A burning desire to loosen these chains and breakfree
Is what beckons my Valkyrie.

  1. Your poems are very well articulated. It is such a feeling to read a style different from my own and still with which I can identify so easily. I would suggest that keep on writing. This one is my favourite, nevertheless, I liked all of them, even that one that you wrote for your friend Saurabh which however is not my cup of tea i.e. it is too light for me.
