I am a simple and ordinary guy
With a normal mind not too hi- fi
Bit its the heart thats a troublemaker for sure
I wish if someone could find me a cure
A girl I know and like a lot
Someone I find both sweet and hot
Accepted to be my valentine one day
When my luck seemed to smile on me in every way
Since I am not the kind of dude you see
whom you would see going on a dating spree
So when I asked her out and she said "yes"
My heart got checkmated in a game of chess
Now impatiently every day I await that hour
Like the scorched earth awaits the rain shower
To take her out for a dinner and a movie
My sweet and smiling and lovely date-to-be
But things are strange the way they go
And its been 10 months and I dont know
Why God continues to keep me waiting
Some problems cropped up and we haven't been dating
The problems are genuine and short lived, the heart understands
But The Lord makes things beautiful with his hands
It just means a little more impatient wait
As I long to be with my perfect date
So every night before I sleep
I feel something move, within me deep--
A Silent subconscious prayer to see...
The beautiful face that in my dreams continues to trouble me...
